Eye Exams
Regular eye exams are essential for early detection and treatment of various eye conditions, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. Many eye diseases have no noticeable symptoms in their early stages, making regular exams crucial for early intervention and preventing vision loss.
What to Expect
During your eye exam, our experienced optometrists will perform a series of tests to evaluate your vision and overall eye health. These may include visual acuity testing, refraction assessment, intraocular pressure measurement, and examination of the retina and optic nerve.
We believe in personalized care tailored to your individual needs. Our optometrists will take the time to listen to your concerns, answer your questions, and address any vision issues you may be experiencing. Whether you’re due for a routine eye exam or have specific concerns about your vision, we’re here to provide you with the highest standard of care.
We’ll start by evaluating your visual acuity, or how well you can see at various distances. You’ll be asked to read from an eye chart to determine your level of visual clarity.
Our optometrist will perform a refraction test to determine your eyeglass prescription if needed. You’ll be asked to look through a series of lenses to identify which ones provide the clearest vision.
Our optometrist will thoroughly examine the health of your eyes, checking for signs of eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. This may involve using specialized equipment to examine the retina, optic nerve, and other structures inside the eye.
We’ll measure the pressure inside your eyes using a technique called tonometry. Elevated intraocular pressure can be a sign of glaucoma, a serious eye disease that can lead to vision loss if left untreated.
We may perform visual field testing to assess your peripheral vision. This test can help detect signs of conditions such as glaucoma or neurological disorders.
